How can you judge the intangible aspects of a finance offer?

I have been asked this question a couple of times recently, and when everyone is focused on the economics of a transaction, it is often not given as much thought as it should.

The softer factors to be considered are around the quality of banking relationship, who will you be dealing with, what influence / authority do they have, and how the borrowing will be monitored.

For new banking relationships where there is no background experience we need confidence that they will deliver on time and in accordance with the indicative terms provided.

The interpersonal issues are important together with the degree of senior sponsorship within the institution.

Feedback from other clients, and of course the guidance from an experienced advisor will help to make the right call.
